Pittsburgh, PA - March 26, 2007 -
Inecom Entertainment Company, a producer and distributor of documentary and instructional films, joined members of Congress in honoring WWII glider pilots on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, March 20th. To mark the release of the company's new DVD, Silent Wings - The American Glider Pilots of WWII, and unanimous passage of House Resolution 42, honoring the achievements of the WWII glider pilots, Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy hosted a press conference and film screening.

Members of Congress Dan Burton (IN) and Carol Shea-Porter (NH) (pictured left to right with Ms. McCarthy at the podium) as well as National WWII Glider Pilots Association, Inc. Chairman Michael J. Samek and Director Robert Child were on hand for the celebration.

Narrated by acclaimed actor Hal Holbrook, the film includes interviews with National WWII Glider Pilots Association, Inc. Chairman Michael J. Samek, surviving glider veterans and legendary journalists Andy Rooney and Walter Cronkite, who flew into Holland with the 101st Airborne Division in 1944.

"This is a great day." said McCarthy. "For nearly 50 years, our nation knew very little about these courageous men. They are finally receiving the recognition they deserve through the release of Silent Wings and passage of a House Resolution in their name."

Director Robert Child agreed, "When I was first told of this development by Inecom Entertainment, they began the phone call with 'Are you sitting down?'. With the Congressional press conference and screening coinciding with the release date of the Silent Wings DVD, Americans will now discover a new 'Band of Brothers' whose inspiring story will now be told."

Hal Holbrook, Legendary Journalists and Glider Veterans Tell Stories of Heroic Glider Pilots in New Film

Worldwide release on March 20, 2007
Screeners, movie trailer and clip reel now available

Pittsburgh, PA - February 23, 2007 - Inecom Entertainment Company, a producer and distributor of documentary and instructional films, announced that the worldwide release of the upcoming film, Silent Wings - The American Glider Pilots of World War II, will take place on March 20, 2007. Screeners are now available on request and a movie trailer and clip reel are available for review and download at www.SilentWingsFilm.com.

The DVD is already available for preorder on select Internet retail sites and recently premiered to a sell-out crowd at the Soaring Society of America’s annual convention.

Writer and Producer/Director Robert Child says, “Being a glider pilot was among one of the toughest assignments in the war. These heroic men flew troops and supplies into battle - landing virtually on top of the enemy. If they survived the crash landing, then they fought on the ground. Thousands of lives were saved and battles won because of their efforts. In fact, one pilot we interviewed said - the 'G' in their emblem didn't stand for glider; it stood for 'guts'. I am pleased that we are able to bring their stories to life in this film."

Inecom Entertainment Company Honors Our Nation's 16th President with Lincoln and Lee at Antietam DVD

Pittsburgh, PA - February 14, 2007 - Almost a century and a half after Abraham Lincoln's death, there is no shortage of interest in his life or contributions to our nation. In fact, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum recently celebrated the arrival of its one-millionth visitor and the National Constitution Center is currently displaying a rare printing of Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.

In February, Inecom Entertainment Company also honors our nation's 16th president with its DVD, Lincoln and Lee at Antietam - The Cost of Freedom, which documents the single bloodiest day in American history and vividly brings to life the story of America's fight for freedom in a battle that changed the course of the Civil War. Narrated by Ronald F. Maxwell, director of Gettysburg and Gods and Generals, the feature documentary is available at video stores, Internet retailers, educational and institutional distributors and large retail chains worldwide.

During the Civil War, President Lincoln needed a victory in order to issue the Emancipation Proclamation, which remains today one of the most socially important documents in American history, shaping black history, as well as our nation as a whole. When Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s strategy fell into the hands of the Union Army, the result was the Battle of Antietam in Sharpsburg, Maryland. In the fight for freedom, nearly twice as many Americans died on that single day than had fallen in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Mexican War and the Spanish-American War combined. In striking comparison, American losses on the bloodiest day of World War II, D-Day, were a quarter of those at Antietam.

Lincoln and Lee at Antietam - The Cost of Freedom, which will appear on public television stations nationwide over President's Day weekend, tells the tale of the 14-hour epic Battle at Antietam and features commentaries from renowned historians such as:
  • James M. McPherson, Princeton University, Pulitzer Prize winning author of Battle Cry of Freedom and Crossroads of Freedom: Antietam;
  • Allen C. Guelzo, Gettysburg College, America’s only repeat winner of the Lincoln Prize; Nominated byPresident George W. Bush to the National Council on the Humanities;
  • Dennis E. Frye, National Park Service Historian at Harpers Ferry, author of Antietam Revealed and associate producer of Gods and Generals; and
  • Paul V. Chiles, National Park Service Historian at Antietam National Park.

Written, directed and produced by multiple-award winner Robert Child (Gettysburg: Three Days of Destiny,Gettysburg: The Boys in Blue and Gray and the upcoming Silent Wings - The American Glider Pilots of WWII), Lincoln and Lee at Antietam - The Cost of Freedom vividlybrings to life the story of America's fight for freedom.

Horses of Gettysburg to Air on Public Television

Pittsburgh, PA - February 2, 2007 - Inecom Entertainment Company announced today that its film Horses of Gettysburg will be distributed to public television stations nationwide by American Public Television (APT). Beginning in June 2007, the special will air in both standard and high definition formats on up to 243 stations reaching 84% of households in the United States (check local listings for dates/times in your area). Narrated by Ronald F. Maxwell, director of Gettysburg and Gods and Generals, the feature documentary is presented by Penn State Public Broadcasting (PSPB).

Filmed in high-definition with charging horses, period photographs and battlefield panoramas with no "talking heads," this cinematic documentary tells the story of the estimated 72,000 horses and mules that fought at the Battle of Gettysburg and uncovers the strategies employed to ensure that the millions of animals in service with the North and South remained healthy and well-trained for action.

Like popular Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro who was recently euthanized after a long battle with injury, the horses and mules of the Civil War were beloved companions to those who cared for them. Horses of Gettysburg captures the relationship between soldiers and their horses celebrating the forgotten heroes of the Civil War and their critical role in shaping the United States of America that we live in today.

Directed by Mark Bussler, producer and director of World War 1 - American Legacy narrated by David Carradine, EXPO - Magic of the White City narrated by Gene Wilder and Gettysburg and Stories of Valor narrated by Keith Carradine, Horses of Gettysburg is also available as a special edition 2 DVD Box Set at video stores, Internet retailers, educational and institutional distributors and large retail chains worldwide.
